The Rycker’s Heart Heroes Project provides care, gives hope, and raises awareness to and for families affected by CHD. We give hope to families who are in the hospital after heart surgery. We help families in Children’s Hospitals locally in the Greater Pittsburgh area and we will also help families nationally through our Heart Heroes Family Fund. Our most notable project is The Rycker Roo Project which you can read about here. We provide Mamaroos to Cardiac Units to help calm infants after open heart surgery or other cardiac procedures, we also provide Mamaroos to families after they leave the hospital through our Mamaroo borrowing program. All we ask is that the family donates the Mamaroo back to The Rycker Roo Project, so that another heart hero can have the same sense of calm. We have had such a great response for the project and have had such a demand for them from other cities, that we will be taking the Project national, with our next stops being in Salt Lake City, Grand Rapids, Texas, and Little Rock Ark. If you would like to see it come to your city be sure to fill out the contact form on The Rycker Roo Project page here. Through the Heart Heroes Family fund, We also do fundraisers for families, a different family each month, to help with hospital costs. If you know a family that might need help during a hospital stay and/or recovery you can fill out our contact form here. The support we have had for the Project has been amazing and we are amazed by the outpouring of encouragement and to see how in such a short time we have already touched the lives of so many, is just beautiful to see!
